Season’s Greetings

Happy New Year 2012 to all, may it be even better and more ‘active’ than 2011! It will be for us at WalkRunCycle as we’re planning to organize some great events in 2012. We’ll be posting the details soon so stay tuned!

Also, don’t forget that London’s Critical Mass is taking place this Friday, December 30, just as usual – starting under Waterloo Bridge at 6pm. With the weather promising to be mild, it will surely be lots of fun and a good way to bid farewell to the old year. Hope to see you there!

London to Calais Carbon Footprint Free – UCL Main Campus Event Monday 12 Dec

A fantastic event is taking place this Monday outside the Print Room Cafe in the Wilkins South Quad. Everyone is invited to join in an attempt to complete a 100 miles distance (or, in other words, that of London to Calais), completely carbon footprint-free, either riding on a bicycle machine or rowing on a rowing machine!

There is a brand new bike to be won by the participant who completes the furthest distance! On top of that, t-shirts are up for grabs as well, and free tea and coffee will be served to all participants.

As well, you will be able to calculate your carbon footprint from home to uni and get some advice on how to reduce it.

WalkRunCycle members will also be there distributing flyers and supporting the event by active participation. Come to the Wilkins South Quad any time between 11am and 6pm to take part – the bike might be yours!
