UCL Bike Buddy Scheme

The UCL Bike Buddy scheme’s aim is to help students and staff start cycling in London, in particular those who feel not so confident about tackling the capital’s busy street on two wheels. The way it works is very simple: we will match you with a more experienced cyclist who will agree to take you on a ride in your chosen location so that you can see for yourself what sort of behaviour you need to adopt to be a safe and happy cyclist in London. You and your Bike Buddy are welcome to take on a longer commitment should you both wish to.

You can benefit from becoming a Bike Buddy scheme user if you:

a) are considering starting to cycle around London but find it a little scary (don’t worry, you’re not the only one!)
b) have started cycling in London but still feel your confidence as city cyclist needs a bit of a boost
